VCSF awarded $3,000 to Art on the Rail Trail in 2020. An additional $1,000 was granted in 2022 toward the installation of a Children’s Mandala.

Our Grant Programs

VCSF awards grants primarily to established tax-exempt entities serving in the Town of New Scotland or the Village of Voorheesville or within the boundaries of the Voorheesville Central School District or directly to one or more of the previously mentioned municipalities or school district.

The Board of Directors of the Foundation will review completed application forms and supporting documentation and make funding decisions at their monthly board meetings. Applicants may be asked to provide additional information and/or be invited to attend a board meeting to present their grant request. Applicants who need assistance completing their grant application are encouraged to contact VCSF prior to applying.

In awarding grants, VCSF considers many aspects of the grant request, including the number of individuals who will be impacted; the effectiveness, benefits, and longevity of the request; other sources of funding pursued; and previous funding provided by VCSF.

VCSF grants are typically awarded for the purchase of equipment or supplies, to fund expenses for specific projects or events, and to provide seed funding for new clubs or organizations. VCSF also provides financial assistance through the management of donations and expenses for community-based projects. VCSF does not fund overhead expenses or salaries and does not provide grants to individuals.

VCSF may occasionally administer special grant initiatives such as the Big Idea Competition and 5K in May.
