Nancy Rucks

Ms. Rucks is a life-long environmentalist. She began serving on the VSCF Board in 2003, shortly after moving to Voorheesville with her husband, Thomas Hart, and their two children Brendan Nugent (2003) and Everett Hart (2012).  She and her family and enjoy the outdoors, especially winter sports.

Ms. Rucks works for New York State’s Coastal Management Program to expand stewardship of coastal resources and raise public awareness about the devastating effects of marine debris on animals living in world's oceans.  She has expertise in the areas of coastal interpretation, recreation, surface water uses and maritime culture.  Recently, she traveled to India to work with street animals at a rescue hospital in Udaipur, broadening her volunteer experience to new international heights.

Jeff Bryant

Jeff Bryant is President of Bryant Asset Protection, Inc. an insurance and financial planning firm. He attended Gettysburg College where he obtained a BA in Economics. He worked for Continental Insurance Co in Philadelphia as a bond and casualty underwriter and later moved to Albany. He and his brother formed Bryant Asset Protection and Bryant Asset Management in the late 80’s. He has served on the board of the Samaritan’s of the Capital District and has severed as President of, the Capital Region Insurance Agents, The Albany Jaycees, and The NENY Chapter of CPCU.

He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Voorheesville and has served as finance chair. He currently serves as the treasurer of the Albany Research Institute. Jeff has been happily married to Kim for 30 years and have had 3 children graduate from Voorheesville.

Michael Snyder is the Director of Sales & Marketing to the Special Events & Convention Center Office for the State of NY. He graduated from Siena College(1977) and received a Master from Pace University. He has been a resident of Voorheesville since 2003 and is currently serving and has served on many Boards. Mike is currently Treasurer of the VC&SF; co-president of the Sports Foundation of the Capital Region; Albany County Convention & Visitor Bureau and a Past President & Treasurer of Meeting Professional International (NENY).

He has been an elected official of his Village in Westchester County, was a Charter Board member of his Volunteer Ambulance Corp. and a coach for his kids teams. Mike & Patty (Secretary of the PTA) Snyder are the parents of two college students; Jen at Holy Cross & Mike at St. Lawrence.

Patricia Kundel

Patricia Kundel is the Executive Vice-President of Healthcare Professionals Insurance Company, a medical liability insurer.  She attended Siena College where she obtained a BBA, Accounting degree.  Patti has been a Voorheesville resident since 1997 and is active in the community.  Patti has served on Weatherfield III Homeowners Association Board, Kids Club Board, been a VES Room Parent, Odyssey of the Mind Coach, and Chairperson of the 5th Grade Graduation Committee.

Additionally, Patti is also a member of St. Matthew’s Parish in Voorheesville and has been a St. Matthew’s Faith Formation Catechist. Patti and Doug Kundel are the parents of four children, two of which are still in school and in the Voorheesville school district.

Lisa E. Brown

Lisa E. Brown is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton.  She graduated from Albany Law School with honors and was elected a member of the Justinian Honor Society. 

Lisa joined the law firm of Wein, Young, Fenton & Kelsey, P.C. as an associate attorney in 1996.  Mrs. Brown focuses her practice primarily on matrimonial and family law issues including divorce, custody, paternity, child support and spousal maintenance.  Mrs. Brown is also a member of the Albany County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.   She devotes her time as an active board member of the Voorheesville Community and School Foundation and she is also a member of the Albany Law School Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Kimberly Cardona

Kimberly A. Cardona currently works for New York State Police in the Computer Crime Unit, she has her Bachelors in Computer Forensics from The Sage College of Albany. Kimberly participates on two boards, Ride for Missing Children and Voorheesville Community School Foundation Board, in the past she has sat on the Voorheesville Recreation Board, as well as Voorheesville Water Committee.

Kimberly and her husband David Cardona are extremely active in their community. She also has two boys David and Dominick who attend school in Voorheesville and keep her busy. For fun she loves to bike and has raised a lot of money for a lot of organizations in our area.

Heather Dolin

Heather grew up in Voorheesville and attended Clayton A. Bouton High School.  She graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Classics.  Heather spent fifteen years in the entertainment industry, working with companies such as 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Walt Disney Studios and Industrial Light and Magic.

Currenty, she serves as the Assistant Manager of the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany.  She lives in New Scotland with her two children, both students in the Voorheesville school system.

Lisa Henkel

Lisa Henkel was born and raised in Colonie, NY and graduated from South Colonie High School.  She went on to Plymouth State College where she earned a B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading.  Lisa began her teaching career in Meredith, New Hampshire before returning to the Capital District where she taught for ten years in the Averill Park, Berlin, and  North Colonie School District.

While teaching, Lisa earned an M.S. in Reading Remediation in 1988 and an M.S. in Educational Administration and Policy Studies in 1994, both from the University at Albany, earning her a S.A.S and S.D.A certification.  From 1994-99 Lisa served as the Assistant Principal of the Voorheesville Elementary School while also pursuing doctoral studies.  In 1999 Lisa earned her C.A.S and completed her Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy Studies at the University.  In 1999, Dr. Henkel returned to the North Colonie School District and served served as building principal of Boght Hills Elementary School before resigning to raise her two young boys, Bryce and Brayden.

Currently Lisa is a College Field Supervisor for the Plattsburgh State University where she works with Student Teachers. Lisa has been married to her husband David for ten years.  She is a member of the St. Matthew’s Church and serves on the Voorheesville Board of Education.

Bob Prentiss

Bob Prentiss is the semi-retired proprietor of Prentiss Antiques and has served on the Board since 2007. His 25 year business experience includes owning and managing three Snelling and Snelling personnel recruiting franchises in the Capital District. Prior to moving to Voorheesville, Bob served for 10 years in the New York State Assembly representing Saratoga and Colonie, in the Albany County Legislature for 19 years and the Pittsfield (Mass.) City Council for 4 years. Bob is also a former English/Social Studies teacher, newspaper reporter and Editor.

He holds an MA from the State University of Iowa and BA from UMass. Bob is a lifetime member of the Korean War Veterans Assn., the Marine Corps League, the VFW and Voorheesville Legion Post 1493. He is the current President of the New Scotland Kiwanis; lector and choir member at ST. Matthew's Church and belongs to the Friends of the Voorheesville Public Library, Town Historical Society and the New Scotland Business Builders. His wife is the former Marlene Windelspecht, raised in Voorheesville.

John Schachne

John A. Schachne is an original member of the Voorheesville Community & School Foundation. That first meeting was held in February 1999 .He works for New York State Higher Education Service Corporation as a student loan representative. John also spent 24 years working for General Electric Company, Noryl Plastics Division as a color matching specialist.

He is a member of St. Matthews Church. John has also coached varsity softball at Shaker High School,along with basketball & softball at Voorheesville High School. John is a softball umpire and a member of the Captial District Softball Umpire Association. John has been married to Margaret for 33 years and two daughters that graduated from Voorheesville.

Margaret Vandervort

Margaret Vandervort is Legislative Manager of The Vandervort Group, LLC, a firm specializing in legislative, regulatory, procurement and government relations consulting since 1986. In addition to serving on the Board of the Voorheesville Community and School Foundation, Margaret is a Board member of The Kids Club and the Family Committee at the Albany Country Club and is a member of the PTA and Friends of Music.

She and her husband Todd have two children, Jack and Jane in the Voorheesville school district.
