VCSF’s Launches the BIG Idea Student Competition

VCSF launched the BIG Idea Student Competition which will award grants of up to $1,500 each to student-driven (K-12) projects that meet our mission of enhancing the educational, athletic, cultural, and organizational opportunities of students and communities within the boundaries of the Voorheesville Central School District. Students will be encouraged to work with peers, teachers, coaches, and/or representatives of community organizations or area entities (town, village, library) to identify areas of opportunity and submit applications on a rolling basis through May of 2024. Applicants will then be asked to present their ideas to the board, and selections will be made competitively, based on the number of applications received in each review cycle.

The Foundation has a long history of awarding grants to student-driven projects, including Eagle Scout candidates and student officers representing a variety of school clubs.  In our 2024 competition, we wish to encourage students to think BIG and be the catalysts for positive improvements in their school and community through collaboration, communication, and competition.
